First We Drive Solar cars in Utrecht Science Park

On Monday June 26^th the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht (HU) took six We Drive Solar electric pool cars in use. In doing so, HU stimulates sustainable mobility. The introduction of the Renault Zoe’s in Utrecht Science Park is a first step in realizing Smart Solar Charging (SSC). Utrecht Science Park is one of the five linked pilot areas of SSC.

Smart Solar Charging aims to store locally produced solar energy in the battery of the electric car. In this way the stored energy can be released to the neighborhood at a later time, when the energy demand is high.
